Lakeisha B. Cheek early interest in photography came at a young age while attending the Children's Art Carnival, taking several art classes in an Arts Education program in Harlem. While in high school, she interned at the Harlem School of Photography, where she continued to develop her photographic skills. Later attended Lincoln University in PA, and then graduated from CUNY receiving an Associates Degree in Commercial Photography and a BA in Liberal Arts.

Working from a small studio in Harlem, her subjects are vast in scope and reflect her professional ability as a photographer, ranging from album covers for Jazz Artist Yamit, to the Riverside Church of New York City.

As a result of her worldly travels, she has created a new series of Fine Art photographs with an artistic visual taste and style, which captures contemporary cityscapes and landscapes.

"Photography always continues to fascinate me. I am delighted to use a camera to capture a special moment in someone's life; an important event; or a simple scene that is overlooked and taken for granted. Photography is my vehicle for expressing myself."
